Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been employed in China for roughly 3,000 years. It is part of a system of medicine that incorporates herbs, tuina (Chinese message), dietary modifications and moxibustion (heat therapy). Until recently little was known in North America about acupuncture. However, over the course of the past three decades knowledge and acceptance of this medicine has greatly increased in the Unites States.
Through the centuries the Chinese noticed that when certain points of the body were stimulated pain and disease diminished. After much study it was realized that these points fell on 12 major pathways. Theory developed that a vital energy termed Qi (pronounced "chee") flows through these pathways in our bodies. When the flow is disrupted disharmony results, causing pain or illness. When the flow is restored, health is regained.
Acupuncture uses tiny, hair-thin needles to bring balance to this energy flow. In doing so the underlying cause of disease is treated, not just the symptoms a person is experiencing.
This office uses only pre-sterilized disposable needles.

Acupuncture has changed my state of mind. For the first time in my life I am relaxed and at peace with myself.
